Elaine Ely Ginsburg November 4, 1948 - October 26, 2010 Elaine Ginsburg, loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and close friend to all, went to be with our Lord, October 26, 2010, after a short illness. Services will be 10 a.m., Friday, October 29, at First United Methodist Church of Waco with the Rev. Sharon Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Elaine was born November 4, 1948 in Bryan, Texas, to Emmett and Sue Ely. She grew up and attended school in Hearne, TX and attended Texas Tech University where she obtained a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. She taught third grade in the WISD for many years. She married Stan Ginsburg on June 5, 1977, and then retired from teaching in 1992, to become a full time homemaker and mother. She was involved in many activities at First United Methodist Church where she served as a Stephen Minister. She also participated in many activities including the Women's Council, Prayer Committee, Adult Handbell Choir and the Thursday Knitting Group. She was active in the Walk To Emmaus program for the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church and had been a past Walk Lay Director and had also served as the Conference Registrar for three years. Elaine served on the Alzheimer's Association Committee for the Memory Walk, and volunteered regularly for Susan G. Komen For the Cure. She served for over 40 years on the staff and board for American Legion Auxiliary's Bluebonnet Girls State in Seguin, Texas, and recently had served for two years on the Womens Auxiliary for the USS Chewaucan Reunion Committee. Extremely generous and caring, she loved her grandkids and family very much and loved being at church for any activity. She was known to her grandchildren as "Gigi". She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Stan Ginsburg, of Waco; sons, Andy Ginsburg and wife, Kimberly, of Houston, TX and Adam Ginsburg and wife, Kathryn, of Ann Arbor, MI; daughter, Amy Kehlenbach and husband, Keven, of Waco; grandchildren, Noah, Charlie and Mills Kehlenbach, all of Waco; brother, David Ely and wife, Sheridan, of Hearne; aunt, Lou Seaberry of Azle, TX; eight nephews, three nieces and many, many close friends. The family wishes to thank the loving and quality care put forth by the doctors and nursing staff of the MIC Unit at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Memorials may be made to Central Texas Susan G.
