Elaine Gulley February 24, 1930 March 23, 2015 Elaine Gulley, 85, passed away peacefully March 23, 2015. A memorial service celebrating her life will be 12:30 p.m., Thursday, March 26, at Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Blackford and Marlene Houston officiating. A private burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Elaine was born, February 24, 1930 in Elgin, Nebraska, moving to Waco at age 8 with her five brothers and three sisters. A 31 year member of Beta Sigma Phi, she was honored as Woman of the Year and Chapter Sweetheart. In her circle of Sorority Sisters, Elaine was famous for her chocolate meringue pie. She loved to cook for family gatherings, baking homemade desserts and preparing a surplus of deviled eggs. She retired from banking and Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Funeral Home. Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clyde Gulley, Jr.; her parents, Milton Stanley Mason and Ruth Clark Mason; brother, Donald Mason and sister, Margaret Shiller; and her brother-in-law, Edward Shiller. Elaine is survived by her son, Bob Gulley, of Houston and daughter, Mary Turner and husband, Reggie, of Hewitt; grandchildren, Amy Fisher, Sarah Alspach, Andrew Gulley, Melanie Ridling, and Ashley Gilley; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Dwight Mason and wife, Beverly, Warren Mason and wife, Pat, Bob Mason and wife, Madene and John Mason and wife, Helen; sisters, Myrtle Forney and Gwen Mason; sister-in-law, Donna Mason; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to her church, Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church, 1201 W. State Highway 6, Waco, TX 76710.
