Elba E. Oswalt May 20, 1920 - March 11, 2016 Elba E. Oswalt of Waco passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 in her home in Waco, Texas. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 14, at Fort Parker Memorial Cemetery in Groesbeck, Texas, with the Rev. Chris Sammons officiating. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Elba was born May 20, 1920, in Dayton, Texas, to Frank and Nellie Mae Woodruff Corse. As a child, the family moved to Bruni, Texas, and Elba graduated from Hebbronville High School in 1938. It was while living in Bruni that she met the love of her life, Anglin “Red” Oswalt. During their 77 years of marriage, they lived in various places in Texas, including Freer, Bruni, McAllen, Madisonville and Waco. She was a devoted wife and mother, who held dear her faith in Jesus Christ. Elba was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodway. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anglin; grandson, Wade Grimm; son-in-law, Larry Grimm; and sisters, Nellie Jackson and Gladys Heaton. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Schultz and husband, Charles, of Corpus Christi, Nelda Emmert and husband, Gayle, of McGregor, and Edwina Nelson of Hewitt; son, Royce Oswalt and wife, Betty, of Richards, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Cole and husband, Adam, Paige Schultz, Holly Souder and husband, Chris, Austin Nelson, Jordan Nelson, Cara Nelson, Myrna King and Regina LeBoeuf; step-granddaughters, Annette Finley, Sheila Noey, Penny Hall and Misty Klawinsky; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Austin Nelson, Jordan Nelson, Charles Schultz, Gayle Emmert, Johnny Oswalt, Bob King and John Trenholm. The family would like to thank Dr. James Graham and Visiting Angels for the wonderful care she received during the last few years of her life. Memorials may be made to Gideon’s International, Salvation Army or First Baptist Church Woodway Library.
