Eldon R. Hammond May 16, 1937 - May 13, 2015 Eldon R. Hammond of Waco passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at his residence. Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, at First United Methodist Church of Waco with the Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 17, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Eldon Ray Hammond with twin Leldon Rose were born on May 16, 1937 in Lampasas, Texas to Joe and Rose Hammond. He had two older brothers Walter and Billy Joe. Eldon attended Burnet Public School and graduated in 1955. Afterwards, he served our country in the U.S. Army. In 1961, Eldon returned to the states and married Ann Falk. They had twins, Joel and Cynthia in 1971. Eldon was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Waco where he was involved with Pack 308 and Troop 308. He was presented the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service in scouting. Eldon was an active Mason and was awarded the Golden Trowel. In 2005, Eldon married Emily Lee. They spent their years together traveling with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Ann and daughter, Cynthia. He is survived by his present wife, Emily Lee Hammond; brothers Walter, Billy Joe and wife Virginia; sister Leldon Matthews and husband Joe Sam; his son Joel and wife, Emily; extended family, grandchildren, neices, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers are Joel Hammond, E.W. Burdette, Alan Burdette, Rick Mitchell, Avery Mitchell, Eddie Morrison, and Mark Alexander Sr. Memorials may be made to Boy Scouts of America Troop 308.
