Elizabeth “Betty” McIntosh Jackson June 27, 1923 - May 12, 2007 Elizabeth “Betty” McIntosh Jackson of Waco passed away Saturday, May 12, 2007. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Tom Robbins officiating. Betty was born June 27, 1923 in Brownwood, TX and came to Waco with her family in 1939. She graduated from Waco High School and attended Baylor University and the University of Texas, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Betty married Thomas H. Jackson Jr. In 1942. She was a member of Austin Avenue United Methodist Church where she was a church school teacher and treasurer of the Women’s Society of Christian Service. She was a chairman of the Women’s Divisionof the American Red Cross Fund Drive and the United Way Fund Drive. Betty had also served as President of the Waco Junior League and the Ridgewood Women’s Golf Association where she was club champion for several years. She was also City of Waco Women’s Golf Champion. Betty served on the board of Oakwood Cemetery and was a member of the Henry Down’s Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Phillip Livingston Chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonists. She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Patty. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Thomas H. Jackson III of Waco and Rowland Jackson and wife, Janet, of Bosque County; seven grandchildren, Dr. James Mark Jackson, Thomas Gregory Jackson, Joseph Harold Jackson, J. Frank Kinsel III, Jennifer Elizabeth Jackson, James Brian Jackson, and Benjamin Holloway Jackson; four great-granddaughters, Kendal Claire, Kathryn Grace, Alice Elizabeth and Hadley Elizabeth Jackson; and great-grandson, Henry Hobart Jackson. She is also survived by her brother, Carl D. McIntosh and his wife, Janis, one niece and four nephews. Her grandsons will be honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Austin Avenue United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
