Elizabeth Rolan

ROLAN, ELIZABETH Elizabeth Rolan, age 80, of Waco, died Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 9:30am Saturday, December 27 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Ben Disney of Central United Methodist Church officiating. Private interment will follow. Visitation with the family will be from 7-8pm Friday, December 26 at the funeral home garden room. Elizabeth was born November 7, 1923 in Garza, Texas, the daughter of William Ausker and Anna Belle Starr Pockrus. She served as an army nurse and graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Elizabeth was a teacher for 31 years at Central Texas area schools, including Riesel, North Junior High School, and Lake Air Jr. High School. She was a founding member of Texas Beta Pi Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa and served one term on its state executive committee. She was currently serving as reservations chairperson for the Waco Federation of Women’s Clubs. She loved to read; she was a loving wife and mother. She was a “giver” to many organizations. She had many friends among the residents of Stilwell Retirement Center and at Central United Methodist Church for which she felt blessed. Survivors include son, Edward Rolan, Jr.; daughters, LuAnne Jones of Sour Lake and Cheryl Potts of Plano; and grandchildren, Travis and Derek Jones of Sour Lake, Lacy Roberts of Lewisville, and Chrissy Potts of Denton.
