Elizabeth S. Hagemeyer February 25, 1922 - December 19, 2015 Elizabeth S. Hagemeyer, 93, of Longview and Waco, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015, at St. Catherine Center in Waco. Rosary will be 11:00 a.m., with Deacon Greg George officiating, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 22, at St. Catherine Chapel with Father Cyril Ejaidu as Celebrant, with Waco services arranged by Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. A visitation with family will be at Rosewood Park Cemetery Longview, prior to graveside service beginning at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 23, with Rader Funeral Home of Longview making the arrangements. Elizabeth was born February 25, 1922, in Lexington, Virginia, to John W. Shuey and Beulah Shank Shuey. She grew up in Virginia and Tennessee and graduated from Marion College in Marion, Virginia. She married Hugh John Hagemeyer on February 12, 1944. They lived in Kingsport, Tennessee, for many years until moving to Longview in 1954. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed many activities at the Pinecrest Country Club and Cherokee Club through the years. She also found time to volunteer at the Longview Regional Hospital for over 14 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh J. Hagemeyer; son, Marine Captain Michael W. Hagemeyer; son-in-law, Troy W. Waggoner; sisters, Katherine Brownell and Ellen Shuey; and brother, Bill Shuey. She is survived by her daughters, Katharine Waggoner of Keller, Texas, and Betsy Simon and husband, Mike, of Waco; grandchildren, Alicia Whitehead and husband, Sonny, of Keller, Jeff Waggoner of Dallas, Michael Simon and wife, Casandra, of Waco, Ashley Johnson and husband, David, of Fort Worth, and Laura Glaser and husband, Weston, of Waco; five great grandchildren with one on the way, Madelyn and Makenzie Whitehead, Emma and Alex Simon and Deacon Glaser; a niece, Ellen Prazak; and nephew, Jud Brownell. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of St. Elizabeth’s, St. Catherine and Providence Hospice of Waco for the wonderful companionship and care they provided her the last seven years. Honorary pallbearers are Mr. Steve Hesley, Jeff Waggoner, Sonny Whitehead, Michael Simon, Jr., Weston Glaser and David Johnson. In lieu of floral arrangements, memorials may be directed to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
