Ella Louise Miller was born on June 2, 1924 to Wesley and Ruby James. She had a happy Texas childhood as the eldest sister with her six siblings. Following her high school graduation as the class valedictorian, she moved to Washington D.C. to work as a secretary to Congressman Lindley Beckworth. While attending church there, she met her beloved husband, Dr. Arthur L. Miller. They enjoyed a happy 58 year marriage as they raised their five children. Together, they lived in Washington, Waco Texas, and Tuscaloosa Alabama, before returning to Waco for Arthur's retirement. Although she did not complete university, she and Arthur were very proud of his educational accomplishments and those of their children, in-laws, and twelve grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and mother who graciously welcomed new family members into her life. Her lifelong commitment to church activities, preserving family history through genealogy, and a detailed personal record leave a legacy for her family. She will be joyously reunited in heaven with her husband, parents, and older brother Roy, among other loved ones. She is survived by her children, Lee Miller and his wife, Linda, Anita Williams and her husband, Dr. Dan Williams, Sara Massey, Dr. Flint Miller and his wife, Debra, and Dr. Scott Miller and his wife, Dr. Carlin Miller; her grandchildren; her sisters, Bobbie Ham and Tommie Jean Nixon and her brothers, Carl James, Edward James and Weldon James. Louise lived by biblical principles. One of her favorite verses was from Proverbs: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, submit to Him and He will make your paths straight."
