GREEN, ELLA V. Ella V. Green, age 85 of Bruceville died Thursday, August 21, 2003 at a local nursing facility. Services will be held at 1pm Saturday, August 23 at Bruceville Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Bruceville-Moore Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Friday, August 22 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Green was born March 21, 1918 in Weatherford to Horace Ivan and Bennie Anne Rust Trout. She was reared and educated in Abilene, Beatty and Brownwood. She graduated from Howard Payne University in Brownwood and received her master’s degree in education from Sul Ross State University in Alpine. She married Rev. Kenneth Charles Green March 6, 1941 in Brownwood. He preceded her in death August 9, 1984. Together they pastored Baptist churches in Southeast, West and Southwest Texas. The churches they served include Winfree Orange, Nome, Burkeville, MacArthur Heights Orange, West End Saratoga, Oak Shade Cleveland, Grape Creek San Angelo and Quemado. After retirement they were active members of Bruceville Baptist Church where she taught the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. She taught public schools in Orange, Cleveland, Grape Creek, Eagle Pass and Quemado. Survivors include daughters, Virginia Lynch and husband, David of Bruceville and Sue Wells and husband, Tom of Granbury; son, Joe Green and wife, Deborah Sosolik of Bruceville; grandchildren, Kim Sepulveda, Jenny Provence, Joel Green, Payton Green, Jonathan Wells, David Wells and Sarah Wells; great grandchildren, Whitley and Tanner Sepulveda and Kenna Provence; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lou Green of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Lula Mae Joiner of El Dorado, Texas, Helane Green of San Angelo, Billy Green of Eldorado, and Tommy and Jackie Green of Georgetown, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews, Joel Green, Jonathan Wells, Payton Green, Bill Green, Tom Green, Wayne Joiner, Travis Joiner, John Paul Joiner, and Alan Green. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Green, Tommy Green and the Women’s Sunday School Classes and their spouses. Memorials may be made to Bruceville Baptist Church, American Bible Society or Salvation Army.
