Elnora Lee Allen December 2, 1930 - June 1, 2015 Elnora Lee Daniel Allen, originally of Waco, passed away peacefully Monday, June 1, 2015, at her son's home in Hampton, VA. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Harold E. O'Chester, former pastor of Allandale Baptist Church of Austin, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Elnora was born December 2, 1930, in Farrar, Texas, to W. Virgil and Laura Aline Daniel. She graduated from Baylor University and then married Roland H. Allen, a graduate of Baylor Law School and an attorney in Borger, Texas, on July 18, 1953. They moved to Austin, TX, in 1969, where she worked as the financial secretary at Allandale Baptist Church, and then they moved back to Waco in 1981. She worked at Baylor University from 1985 until she retired in 2011, spending many years in the Drama Department and also in the Art Department. Known as "Miss Ellie," one of her great enjoyments was being around college students. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting, and loved being with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Allen; her parents, Virgil and Aline Daniel; and eight of her nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sons, William Allen and wife, Lisa, of Katy, Texas and James Allen and wife, Glenda, of Hampton, VA; a daughter, Donna Polley and husband, Greg, of Lindale, GA; a brother, Roy Wayne Daniel and wife, Kay, of Oak Harbor, WA; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
