Elsie Marie Moore September 27, 1924–September 5, 2006 Elsie Marie Moore of Woodway passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2006. Services will be at 1:30 PM Saturday, September 9, at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Entombment will follow at Waco Memorial North Mausoleum. Rosary will be at 6:00 PM Friday, September 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel with visitation following. Elsie was born September 27, 1924 in Poth, Texas. She grew up in the country helping her family operate a small farm. Her parents were Frank J. Grier and Sofia Collon Grier. Elsie attended Catholic grade school in Poth, and graduated from Poth High School. She attended Incarnate Word College and Santa Rosa School of Nursing in San Antonio, receiving a R.N degree in nursing in 1943. She practiced nursing in San Antonio. While nursing, she met her future husband, Richard D. Moore Dick, a Captain in the U.S Air Force. On August 17, 1946 they were married; and had 59 years together before Dick passed away in 2005. In 1958 they had their only child, Richard G. Moore. Elsie lived in Iowa in her early married life, and then the family moved to Houston for 10 years. Later family moves took her to Miami for 10 years, serving the local Catholic Church. The family moved to Waco in 1974, and Elsie had several part time jobs while taking care of her family and providing service to the church. She is survived by her son Richard G. Moore and his wife, Wendy of Sacramento, California; one sister Margaret Noll and one niece Jeanette Gansky, both of Fair Oaks, Texas. Those who knew Elsie were well aware of her for her gentle nature and love of animals great and small. She will be dearly missed by all she touched in this life.
