Elwood C. Seith, Sr.

July 2, 1929 — February 20, 2018

Elwood C. Seith, Sr., of Waco went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 20, 2018. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 24, at Waco Memorial Park Cemetery in Waco with Rev. Kip Osborne and Rev. Bruce Worley officiating. Kip will sing “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “The Pearly White City”. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, February 23, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Elwood was born July 2, 1929, in Elm Mott, Texas, to John C. Seith and Selma Kramer Seith. He attended schools in Waco 12 years. He married the love of his life, Dixie Muncy, on March 20, 1948. They loved to travel. When he retired, they drove to Alaska and back. Elwood and Dixie enjoyed watching baseball and football together on T.V. He enjoyed doing things with family. Elwood accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of 22. He taught Sunday School at Kendrick Lane Baptist Church. He has been a member of Western Heights Baptist Church since 1977. He was a Deacon and served on many committees. He worked for Jim Crippen and W.T. Yarbrough Grocery for 20 years as Butcher and Market Manager. He worked for Bolfings Super Market for 31 years as Butcher and Market Manager. After retiring, he worked 10 years at Brazos Pawn Shop owned by Ed Bolfing. Elwood was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; a sister; his wife; an infant son, Ronald Keith; and an infant great grandson, Evan Seith. Elwood is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Garry Lightfoot of Bruceville, a son, “Woodi” Elwood Seith, Jr., and wife, Beth, of Bruceville; two granddaughters, Heather and husband, Steve Nunnelly, of Coronado, California, and Jaime and husband, Calvin Schaeper, of Bruceville; three grandsons, Jeremy Lightfoot and wife, Heather Ann, of San Antonio, Caleb Seith and wife, Stacey, of Robinson and Zachary Seith and wife, Cassandra, of Georgetown; four great-grand daughters, Joie Nunnelly of Coronado, Zoey Seith of Robinson, Abby Lightfoot of San Antonio and Callie Schaeper of Bruceville; four great-grandsons, Landry Lightfoot of San Antonio, Brody Schaeper of Lorena, Austin Seith of Robinson and Oliver Schaeper of Bruceville; and several nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
