Emma Mae Ceska June 1, 1922 March 1, 2008 Emma Mae Navara Ceska, 85, of Lorena passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008. Rosary will be recited at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 3rd at St. Mary of the Assumption, Waco, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Irudayaraj Nelapatti-Thomas as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in West, Texas. Emma was born June 1, 1922 in Elk to Adolph and Millie Pechacek Navara. She attended school in Elk and graduated from Axtell High School and 4-C Business College. She and Otis Jerry Ceska married November 11, 1941. She worked for the Parks and Recreation Department and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame. After 35 years of service, she retired from the City of Waco. She was active at the St. Mary's Womens' Guild, Ladies of Charity, Caritas and was a Church Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Emma was an active member of SPJST, Waco Lodge 66 and RVOS, Waco Ceska Lodge 109. She loved dancing and enjoyed playing dominos. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Edna Rose Mach and Margurete Lorraine Mach; her son-in-law, Elmer Brem, and her nephew Michael Mach. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Otis Ceska; daughter, LaNell Brem of Lorena; grandchildren, Karen Hansen and husband Greg of Flower Mound, Texas; Jerry and his fianc, Heather McHale of Durham, NC; Michael and wife, Michelle of Lorena, Texas; great-grandchildren, Austin, Alec and Addison Jerry AJ Brem; Hunter and Dylan Hansen; sisters-in-law, Julia Pochobradsky of Ennis, Texas and Mary Harmacek of Gregory, SD; many nieces and nephews.
