Emma Marie Petty passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023. Services will be held at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Pastor Carlton Stimpson officiating.
Emma was born January 14, 1947, in Caruthersville, Pemiscot County, Missouri, to James and Annie Lee Johnson. Emma was educated at Washington High School in Caruthersville, Missouri. She worked at JFK Airport in Queens, New York. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the casino, and playing cards with her friends at the Senior Center.
Mother Emma Petty was baptized early in life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in the State of Missouri, her place of birth. Later in life she relocated to New York where she attended Community Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Antwain Johnson; siblings, Roberta Clark, Bernice Johnson Harris, Charles Damon, Ella Mae Johnson Bracken, Jesse Mae Johnson, Ernest Lee Johnson, Johnny Lee Price, and Tommy Price.
She is survived by her two sons, Reginald Johnson and Ronald Smith; her two sisters, Pearl Jones and Patricia Parker; and nine grandchildren. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
