Erna Emma Tiemann September 23, 1908-March 1, 2008 Erna Emma Tiemann, age 99, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 6, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 2000 Clay, Waco TX 76710. Visitation will be from 10:00 11:00 a.m. at the church. Erna was born September 23, 1908, in Falls City, Nebraska. Previously living in Austin, Texas, she moved to Waco in 1993. In addition to being a loving wife and mother she was also a dedicated nurse in the nursery. Erna had been a faithful member of Hope Lutheran Church, Austin, and also St. Mark's Lutheran Church, in Waco. Her loyalty, unconditional love and nurturing spirit will always be in the hearts of her loved ones and friends. Erna was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ernest Tiemann, and daughter, Martha Louise Burris. Erna is survived by one son and four daughters: Ernest Tiemann and wife, Evie, Oak Park, IL; Ruth Bartling and husband, Frederick, St. Paul, MN; Elaine Johnson and husband, Richard, Waco; Esther Rowley and husband, Glenn, Shawnee Mission, KS; and Sharon Bayer and husband, Jon, Lake Bluff, IL. Also surviving her are 24 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the church, St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
