STECHER, ERNEST E. Ernest E. Stecher, age 72 of Lacy Lakeview passed away Thursday, September 4, 2003 at his residence. Services will be held at 9:30am Monday, September 8 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Jimmy Adams officiating. Burial will be at 2pm Monday at Adina Cemetery near Lexington, Texas. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7pm Sunday, September 7 at the funeral home. Mr. Stecher was born July 21, 1931 in Cameron, Texas. He was raised in Bartlett, Texas and served in the Navy during the Korean War. Ernest retired from Mrs. Bairds Bakery after 38 years of service. He was a member of Bellmead Calvary Baptist Church where, he served the Lord through their bus ministry for 15 years and was trustee for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing and dove hunting. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who dearly loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara Machalicek and Anton Stecher, loving aunt and uncle, Freda and Jim Machalicek and one granddaughter, Abby Stecher. Survivors include wife, Sharon Stecher of Lacy Lakeview and their daughter, Trista Petry. Ernest is also survived by his former wife, Judy Ellis of Woodway and their children, Ricky Stecher and wife, Margaret of Elk, Becky Donald and husband, Bob of Round Rock, Rhonda Peebles and husband, Carey of Granbury, and Katy Schaaf and husband, Tim of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and grandchildren, Austin Stecher, John Watts, Jackie Peebles, Kriston Stecher, Cole Wiley, Addison Schaaf, Able Schaaf, and Logan McHargue.
