Ernest Layton Marecle August 21, 1919 - June 2, 2006 Ernest Layton Marecle of Robinson passed away Friday, June 2, 2006 at a local Hospital. Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel with the Rev. Eric Holleyman officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, June 5, 2006 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Layton was born August 21, 1919 in Eddy, to James Henderson Marecle and Cora Pearl Marecle. He retired from the U. S. Postal System in 1985 after twenty seven years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received three bronze stars. He was a voluteer of the year for Hillcrest Community Hospice in 1999. He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Robinson, and previously served as a deacon at First Free Will Baptist Church of Waco. He was preceded in death by his first wife Bernice on October 4th, 1986. He is survived by his wife of 18 years Dora Alice Marecle; son, Kenneth L. Marecle and wife Barbara; grandson, Eric Marecle and wife Heather; granddaughter, Amy Marecle; two great grandchildren, Madelynn and Tate; sister, Inez Mayfield. Also surviving are step-son, Don Rockett and wife Jo Ann; four step-grandchildren, several step-great grandchildren, and many other relatives.
