Ernestine Conant September 30, 1909 – February 27, 2006 Ernestine Conant, 96, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006 at Providence Park. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel with Dr. Raymond Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 3rd at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Miss Conant was born September 30, 1909 in Childress, TX to Sam Houston Conant and Emily Estelle Conant. She attended Waco Schools and Baylor University and worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for over 45 years retiring in October, 1974. She was a member of the Waco Altrusa Club, Daughters of The Republic of Texas and Telephone Pioneers. Miss Conant was a life long member of Seventh and James Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers. Ernestine is survived by Susanne and Lacy Henderson, Lana Jo and Sam Hommel, Al and Sheila Conant, Deborah and Bill Richardson, Clyde and Carlie Howard, Sandy and Harry Strachan and Fran Conant. She is also survived by several great and great great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
