Ernestine Wheelock Megarity April 18, 1914 – October 27, 2006 Ernestine Viel Megarity, age 92, went to be with her heavenly Father and her loving husband October 27, 2006. The family invites you to join them in celebrating her life Monday, October 30 at 1:30 pm at Lakewood Christian Church in Waco, Texas with Dr. Jerry Kirkpatrick officiating. Her body will be laid to rest at Waco Memorial North. The family will receive visitors Sunday, October 29 from 4 to 6:00 pm at Wilkirson-Hatch-bailey Funeral Home. Mrs. Megarity was born April 18, 1914 in Humble, Texas. She graduated from Troup High School and Texas State College for Women, currently TWU, with a degree in Library Science. Ernestine was a teacher and Librarian at Lindale High School in Lindale, Texas when she met and married her husband, Eldon Megarity of Corsicana, Texas. She and Eldon shared 66 beautiful years of marriage. Ernestine was a Charter Member of Lakewood Christian Church. She shared many hours with friends and family playing bridge, fishing, quilting, gardening, cooking and traveling. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jay Wood and Hazel Wheelock; her brother, Jimmy Wheelock; her sister, Janet Brown; her grandson, Heath Stenstrom and her loving husband, Eldon Jess. Ernestine is survived by her sons, Eldon Dennis and wife, Dianna of Houston, David Timothy Megarity and Martin Louis Lower, both of Waco; daughter, Melissa Megarity Miller and husband, Bill of Bellville; daughter-in-law, Sue Carolyn Megarity of Cat Spring; her grandsons, Michael Shannon Megarity and wife, Angie of Ashland, Oregon, Keeley Flynn Megarity and wife, Denise of Houston, Shelby Fletcher Megarity and wife, Christine of Katy, William Clayton Miller of Houston; granddaughters, Ashley Elizabeth Miller of New York, Molly Kathleen Miller of Denver, Morgan Hayley Megarity of Houston and eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Martin Lower, William Miller, Clayton Miller, Shannon Megarity, Keeley Megarity, Shelby Megarity and Jim Tom Speer. Honorary pallbearer is Heath Stenstrom in absentia. Ernestine was a loving wife, Mother, Grammy and wonderful friend to many. The family would like to thank those at Hospice Brazos Valley, the nurses at Trinity Medical Center and all of he individual caregivers who took such loving care of her in her last months.
