Eugenia Charlotte “Bonnie” Poole, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 18, at Saint Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church (St Mary’s), located at 1401 Washington Avenue, Waco, Texas 76701, with Father Joe Geleney officiating. Interment will follow the mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Waco. The wake service will be 6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 17, in St Mary’s. Visitation will be 7:00 p.m., following the wake service. Arrangements are being provided by Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Bonnie was born in Miami, Florida, on September 1, 1939. She met her future husband, James Porter Poole, at the Essex Theater in 1952 while living in Hialeah, Florida. Bonnie and Jim were married in Hialeah on July 8, 1957. They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Bonnie was a nurse for 20 years. Upon retirement she enjoyed all forms of crafts including jewelry making, painting, greeting cards, and t-shirts. Bonnie and Jim are members of St Mary’s in Waco. Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Randolph John Trabert; mother, Jean St. John; dad, James St. John, Jr.; sister, Bunny; and daughter, Rebecca Poole. Survivors include: husband, Jim of Waco; brothers, James St. John III and wife, Chris, of Palm City, Florida, Christopher St John and wife, Minnie, of McAllen, Texas, and Darrel Dietz; sister, Meme St John of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands; children, James H. Poole and wife, Marion, of Platte City, Missouri, David Poole and wife, Margie, Burkburnett, Texas, and Catherine Pettis-Poole and wife, Chris, of Round Rock, Texas; grandchildren, James E. Poole and wife, Katherine, of Platte City, Sean Poole of St. Joseph, Missouri, Amanda Poole of Kansas City, Missouri, Benjamin McLean of Orlando, Elizabeth McLean of Orlando, Kristen Morris and husband, Michael, of St. Anthony, Minnesota, and Kellie Poole of Burkburnett; great grandchildren, Lauren Poole and Sarah Morris; and friend and caregiver, Kathleen Courtney.
