Eula Harvey Simons Mayo March 13, 1917 - December 6, 2012 Eula Mayo of Waco passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Providence Park. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 7, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Eula was born March 13, 1917, in Fisher County, TX to Louis Allen Harvey and Lula Gertrude Piper Harvey. She lived in Waco all but the first six years of her life, graduating from Waco High School in 1934 and attending the National School of Business. She was associated with Mr. A.W. Clark, in the insurance business for 25 years and 10 years in the developing properties. They developed the Eagle Canyon Estates Addition in the China Spring area. She married Doss Simons in 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1975. She was a charter member of Central United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Lone Star Chapter of the American Business Women's Association and a long and active member of the Auxiliary of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Her volunteer work at Hillcrest was the love of her life. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Donald Mayo of Waco; one sister, Lula Mae Dennison Pattillo of Waco; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Scott Smith, Jerry Harvey, John Paul Harvey, Harvey McCall, Larry Kohler and Don Mayo, Jr. Memorials may be made to Children's Care Center at Central United Methodist Church, 5740 Bagby Ave., Woodway, 76712 or Compassion Ministries, 1421 Austin Ave, Waco, 76701.
