Eunia Murteel Scrivner February 26, 1934 - November 7, 2016 Eunia Murteel “Murt” Scrivner of Woodway passed away Monday, November 7, 2016, at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Medical Center. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 11, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Murt was born February 26, 1934, in Belton, Texas, to Albert Jackson “Jack” and Addie Lou McFarland. Her first job was working as an assistant and model to the legendary Waco photographer, Jimmie Willis. She was pictured on the cover of The Waco Tribune Herald on April 19, 1950, in a picture taken by Willis standing on the 50-yard line of the then unfinished Baylor Stadium. She also worked for Dr. Gamble for many years as a medical assistant and touched the lives of many young children. She also enjoyed doing volunteer work at Hillcrest Hospital Recovery Room. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Waco, where she sang in the choir and was very active in the Emmaus organization. Murt was preceded in death by her parents; husband James Scrivner, Jr.; and three brothers, Herman, Alvin and Joe McFarland. She is survived by a sister, Mildred Teer; a daughter, Teresa Braun; two sons, Randy and Jeff Cannon; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
