Eva Jeanette Varnell

VARNELL, EVA JEANETTE Eva Jeanette Varnell, age 91, of Waco died Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at a local nursing home. Services will be held at 9:30AM Saturday, February 2 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Julie Pennington-Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00PM Friday, February 1 at the funeral home. Mrs. Varnell was born April 1, 1910 in Royse City to Bernard and Alma Stulce. She married Theodore Ted H. Nichols and had one child. Mr. Nichols died in 1967 after a long illness. In 1985, she married Charles C. Varnell. She retired as secretary of Baylor School of Nursing. Mrs. Varnell was a longtime member and worker at Calvary Baptist Church and a member of ABWA. She spent her entire life helping others including delivering for Meals On Wheels. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, C. Edwin Stulce and sister, Bon Lynn Tatum. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of Lake Shore Village. Survivors include husband, Charles C. Varnell, son, Dan H. Nichols and wife, Joan of Fort Worth, step daughters, Martha MacDonald and husband, Robert of Austin, Elizabeth Ann Smith and husband, Richard of Houston, stepson, Maurice Varnell and wife, Jerre of Florence, granddaughter, Susan Bitner and husband, Danny of Crowley, great granddaughter, Courtney Erickson, step grandchildren, Amy Hanson and husband, Travis of Mooresville, North Carolina, John Varnell of Waco, Lauren Varnell of Florence, Carrie Smith of Austin, Stephanie Smith of Seattle, Washington, Robert MacDonald and wife, Glenda of Austin, Richard MacDonald of Los Angeles, California, step great grandchildren, Kate and Tom MacDonald, brother-in-law, Homer Tatum, sister-in-law, Martha B.
