Eva Mae Garrett Britain August 14, 1915 December 8, 2008 Eva Mae Garrett Britain passed away Monday, December 8, 2008, in San Antonio, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, December 11, at Grace Temple Baptist Church, located at 3825 Bosque Blvd in Waco, TX. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 10, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Eva was born August 14, 1915, in Rock Creek, Texas near China Springs, to Harper Mack Garrett and Luna Webb Garrett. While attending Crawford High School, Eva met Jack Carter Britain and married him in 1934. Jack worked many years in the City of Waco Tax Office, and Eva was an employee of Baylor University for 25 years. Eva was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her son, Jack Chancellor Britain and his wife, Virginia, of Plano, Texas; daughter, Melonia Britain Vickery and husband, Virgil, of Spring, Texas; grandson, Jack H. "Jay" Britain, and his wife Kayden, of Boerne, Texas; grandson, Michael Britain, and his two sons, Nicholas and Matthew, of Keller, Texas; and granddaughter, Stacy Britain Holick and her husband, Chris, and son, Jaxson, of Bryan, Texas.
