Eve Agnes Nicolette September 17, 1928 - October 21, 2010 Eve Agnes Nicolette, 82, of Hewitt, Texas, left this earth to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 21, 2010, after a lengthy illness. She died peacefully at home with her children at her side. Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23, in the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room, 6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco TX. A visitation will be held 5:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday, October 24, with Rosary at 7:30 p.m., at Bremond Funeral Home, 201 S. Commerce Street, Bremond TX. Mass of Christian Celebration will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 25, at St. Mary's Catholic Church 715, N. Main St., Bremond, and Christian burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery. Eve was born September 17, 1928, in Bremond to Albert and Agnes Schubrych, as the seventh child. She attended Walnut School and St. Mary's Catholic School in Bremond and grew up on the family farm until age thirteen, when difficulties due to the Great Depression forced her to leave Bremond. She traveled with her brother and sister on a one-way bus ticket to Chicago looking for employment in the larger city. She found work during the day and completed business school in the evenings as she strived to better her life through education. Eve worked in various occupations during her early years in Chicago, with her most enjoyable employment as the office manager for National Clothing. On June 23, 1956, Eve married the love of her life, Chicagoan Anthony "Tony" Vincent Nicolette. Together Eve and Tony, or "Nick" as referred to by close family and friends, were business entrepreneurs in Chicago as they enjoyed many years of successful business ventures. Their family grew with the birth of their four children, Tom, Toni, Cindy and Debbie. Life in Chicago was fast-paced and through family vacations to Texas, Eve and Nick decided to relocate their family to Central Texas, specifically the Bremond area, for a slower pace of life. Soon after returning to Texas, the family moved to Robinson, near Waco. Nick died of a lengthy illness in 1983 with Eve at his side. Eve lovingly took care of Nick throughout his illness. Eve took on the roles, without Nick at her side, not only of mother but also father to their four children. Eve provided each of her children with the higher education of their choice, as she always wanted the best for her children. In Waco, Eve attended continuing education classes and worked for Datapoint Corporation, and later retired from Weyerhaeuser Corporation as a quality control inspector in 1989. During her retirement, she had the opportunity to enjoy her children and grandchildren. Her passions in life were her children and their families, her home and many gardens, family vacations, baking from scratch, home-style cooking of Polish and Italian recipes, family functions, church services, and board games especially Scrabble and a good hand of dominoes. Eve was a parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in Waco for over 32 years. She is fondly remembered as a happy and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law and friend. Eve is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tony; brothers, Peter Schubrych, Louis Schubrych, Kie Schubrych and Adam Schubrych; and sisters, Valeria Mikuzis, Florence Wiencek and Rose Antis. She is survived by her four children and their families, all of the Waco area: son, Thomas Anthony; and daughters, Antoinette Marie Harris and husband, John, Cynthia Rose Camarelli, and Deborah Lee Clark and husband, Jerry. Eve is also survived by grandchildren, Rachel Freeman, Derek Freeman, Jacob Freeman, Leslie Marie Harris and Addy Clark; great grandson, Brenden Bowers; step grandchildren, Stacey Revell and husband, Alex; and Jason Harris and wife, April; and step great-grandchildren, Kyle Terry and Brandon Terry. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Lillian Schubrych; and many nieces and nephews, from Illinois, Tennessee, Texas and Maryland. The family would like to express great appreciation to Dr. Maydee Rosario and Dr. Wayne Falcone, for their many years of gentle medical guidance and support. Also, kind thanks to caregivers Janice McFarland, Helen Gaines, Edie Nelson, and the Providence Hospice team, Laurie, Wilda, Becky and Deborah. Appreciation to Rev. Raj of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Waco, Rev. Thomas and Rev. Joseph of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in Waco. Kind thoughts to Peggy Steffek, Karen Curnock and Mary and Dennis Clark, for their loving help. And, to nieces Linda Antis and Angela Antis for their assistance in Eve's time of need. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Eve's memory to St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, 1401 Washington Ave., Waco TX 76701.
