Evelyn Brown Moore October 9, 1915 - April 13, 2013 Evelyn Faires Brown Moore was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 13, 2013. Graveside services for family and friends will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 20, at Oakwood Cemetery with the Dr. Donald B. Moore and Rev. Keith R. Fortner officiating. Evelyn was born October 9, 1915 in Waco to Mr. and Mrs. H.K. Brown. She married the love of her life, Bruce H. Moore on March 8, 1936, and devoted the next 67 years to him and their four children, Faith Ann, Donald Bruce, Elizabeth Lee and Mary Lynn Mae. Evelyn embraced her Christian faith. Whether serving as a charter member of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas or faithfully leading "The Homemakers" Sunday School class, her compassion and generosity were contagious. She loved children and supporting missions. She knitted, read and listened to Christian radio. Evelyn surrounded herself with everything good, noble and praisworthy, even when times were difficult. As her favorite hymn, "He Giveth More Grace", testifies: "He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater; He sendeth more strength when the labors increase." She was currently a member of Western Heights Baptist Church of Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce; sister, Christine Brown Sligar and stepbrother, Daniel Brown. She is survived by daughter, Faith Fortner and husband, Keith of Kaufman, Texas; son, Donald Moore and wife, Janice of Apex, North Carolina; daughter, Elizabeth Smith and husband, Ronald of Newport Beach, California; daughter, Mary Lynn Eisenbarth and husband, Steven of Waco; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many dear friends. She will be missed forever but her godly legacy lives on in her family. In the words of Psalm 116:15, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
