Evelyn Elizabeth Gunn July 3, 1912 - February 6, 2007 Evelyn Elizabeth Gunn of Waco passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2007. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 8, at Oakwood Cemetery. Evelyn Elizabeth Gunn was born in Waco, Texas on July 3, 1912. She was the daughter of Thomas Oliver and Eva Oliver Shindler. She was educated in Waco schools. Upon graduation from business school, she began work with the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she worked for 46 years. Evelyn and her husband Herbert Eugene Gunn, childhood friends, were married for 63 years. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Leonard Oliver and her sister, Margaret Shindler Smith. She is survived by a sister Nova Wolfe, of Phoenix, Arizona; her niece and nephew, Debbie and Holt Getterman, of Waco; her niece Nova Bowser, of Phoenix, Arizona; her nephew and niece Michael and Becky Smith, of Thousand Oaks, California; her nieces, Bonnie Gunn of Waco, and Carolyn Gunn of Waco; as well as many great nieces and great nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Waco Humane Society, Hillcrest Community Hospice or Westwood Baptist Church.
