Evelyn Robinson Chernoff

Evelyn Robinson Chernoff January 4, 1925 April 5, 2009 Evelyn passed away Sunday April 5, 2009. Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Rodef Sholom Cemetery, with Rabbi Gordon Fuller officiating. Evelyn was the daughter of Samuel H. and Mary M. Robinson. Mrs. Chernoff attended Brenau College in Gainesville, GA and the University of Tennessee. She was a member of Agudath Jacob, Hadassah, and May Chapter 24 Eastern Star of Knoxville, TN. On a visit to Nashville, Tennessee, she met Dr. Saul Chernoff, optometrist. They were married shortly afterwards and moved to Waco. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dr. Philip H. Robinson, brother and sister-in-law Dr. William and Audrey Chernoff. She is survived by her husband Saul; two sons, Samuel M. Chernoff and Philip H. Chernoff; one grandson, Mark Thomas Chernoff; sister and brother-in-law Dr. Stanley and Adell Bernard, Dr. Sam and Cissy Chernoff, Arthur and Isabelle Chernoff and several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
