Everett Wilson West

December 29, 1930 — December 17, 2022

Everett Wilson West, 91, of Woodway passed from this life Saturday, December 17, 2022 at home with his family by his side.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow immediately at Waco Memorial Park.

Everett was born December 29, 1930 in Waco to Chester Arthur West and Lynn Louise West. Everett spent all of his childhood years in Waco. He met the love of his life, Wanda, while he was working in Brownfield, Texas. Everett graduated from Waco High in 1948.

Immediately after graduating from high school, he and his twin brother, Ernest, joined the Air Force. They were both stationed in Japan, during the Korean conflict.

Following his four years with the Air Force, he came back to Waco to attend and graduated from Baylor University in 1957. He then got a job with an Oil Company and moved to Brownfield. In 1958, he moved back to Waco and began what became a 37 year career with Dealers Electrical Supply. Everett and Wanda married in Brownfield on February 21, 1959. Living in Waco Everett and Wanda began attending the Crestview Church of Christ, where after some bible studies, Everett was baptized, and he and Wanda began raising their family with two sons and one daughter. In 1967, Everett received a promotion with Dealers Electrical Supply to become the store manager of a brand new location in Fort Worth.

The family set up roots in Arlington where they became members of the Randol Mill Church of Christ, now known as North Davis Church of Christ where he sat and chaired several youth and benevolent committees. He also served as a deacon and taught Junior High classes.

After living in Arlington for 16 years, Everett received a promotion with Dealers to become Vice President of Sales and Marketing and the family moved back to Waco, Texas. This allowed the family to rejoin Crestview Church of Christ. After his retirement, he and Wanda spent many summer months and winter ski trips with family and friends in Angel Fire, New Mexico. He was a dedicated man to God, his family, and those that came in contact with him. He was known as PaPaw to his much-loved grandchildren. He loved spending time, attending activities they were involved in and took great pride in building special things, just for them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Louis Chester West and Ernest Allen West.

Everett is survived by his loving wife, Wanda; two sons and their wives, Robert and Kim West of Waco and Randal and Lynda West of Hewitt; daughter and her husband, Regina and Todd Wilson of Austin; his five grandchildren, Lane Glaster-West, Jamie West, Ashley West, and Rusty and Race Wilson; and one great-grandson, Carter.

The family would also like to thank the tender care given by Right At Home and Bluebonnet Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crestview Church of Christ Benevolent Center, 7129 Delhi Rd, Waco, Texas 76712.
