Evirt L. Petitt

PETITT, EVIRT L. Evirt L. Petitt, 78 of Elm Mott, died Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10am Friday, October 4 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Thomas D. Roberson officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Thursday, October 3 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mr. Petitt was born February 2, 1924 in Limon, Oklahoma. He was reared in Rio Hondo, Texas. He married Helen Irene Doney February 6, 1948. He had been a resident of Elm Mott for the past 32 years. He worked for the Texas Highway Department for 19 ½ years and TSTC as a heavy equipment operator for 4 ½ years. Mr. Petitt attended Victory Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God. Survivors include wife, Helen Petitt of Elm Mott, daughters, Joyce Durrett and husband, Terry of Cottontown, Tennessee, Darleen Petitt and Linda Green both of Elm Mott, sons, Bruce Petitt and wife, Brenda of China Spring and Evirt Petitt of Elm Mott, grandchildren, Jeffery Petitt and wife, Melissa of Waxahachie, Jana and Jody Durrett of Cottontown, Tennessee, Jelessa Bowman and husband, Jeremy of Waco and Betsy Petitt of China Spring, great grandchildren, Jalayne and Jayna Bowman, sisters, Zelma Tallant of Rio Hondo, Fonetta Meyers of Austin, Opal Brister of Groesbeck, and Eva McGhee of Ukiah, California.
