Faustina Martinez

February 15, 1921 — December 17, 2010

Faustina Martinez February 15, 1921 - December 17, 2010 In the hour of great mercy, Faustina Tina Martinez of Waco entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, December 17, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 20, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Lawrence Soler as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, December 19, beginning at 6:00 p.m., and Rosary Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Faustina was born February 15, 1921, in McClannahan, TX, to Jose and Nasaria Sertuche Ramos. She was one of seven children. She married Paul Martinez of Marlin and they had five children. She was a loving daughter, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, great-grandmother and a caring friend to her friends. To all that knew Faustina, she was known as Tina. Her greatest love was her family, but her flowers came a quick second; she enjoyed being outside and tending to her beautiful flowers and will be remembered for that. Grandma Tina couldn't read, but she would read The Lion King to Ramona. Ramona didn't know that she couldn't read, and when she read the story she would make it up, but Ramona knew the story by heart and said "It don't go like that, Grandma Tina." Grandma Tina would say "Oh well, it's my story". We love you Mom, Tia Tina, Grandma Tina. Faustina has been a lifelong Catholic and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving and devoted husband, Paul Martinez, Sr., son, Paul Martinez, Jr., six sisters and brothers. She is survived by daughters: Adelaida Martinez, and Yolanda M. Rodriguez and husband, Johnny O., of Waco; sons, Mario Martinez and Linda Levinson of The Colony, TX, and Chris Martinez and wife, Patricia, of Magnolia, TX; eleven grandchildren and nine great granddaughters. Pallbearers are Gilbert Ramos, Ronnie Ramos, Toby Ledesma, Eddy Rosas, Steve Flores, and James Aaron Rosas. Honorary Pallbearer is Charles England Bimbo. The family wants to thank the staff of The Courtyard at Hewitt, especially Kayla and Ashley, and also the Scott & White Hospice staff at Hillcrest, most especially the two Debras. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scott and White Hospice at Hillcrest or Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.WilkirsonHatchBailey.com.
