Fay Florene Overby December 9, 1919 - November 6, 2012 Fay Florene Overby of Waco passed away peacefully in her own home with her two daughters at her side on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 9, at First Baptist Church Chapel with the Dr. Matt Snowden officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, November 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Flo was born in Hemphill, Texas, on December 9, 1919, to William and Lela Rushing. She married her soul mate, Shelton E. Overby, on November 1, 1941. Flo spent most of her life as a homemaker and also taught school at Meadowbrook Elementary for 19 years. She retired to care for her husband when he became disabled with Parkinson's disease. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton; her parents, Jesse and Lela Rushing; her daughter, Shelly Morrison; and her sister, Reba Robertson. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy and Jane Overby of Waco; her grandchildren, Kent Morrison, Christopher Diaz, Jessica Morrison and Emily Florio; great granddaughter, Alex Brooks; and her twin sister, Irene Westerfield. Pallbearers are Christopher Diaz, Gregory Florio, Thomas Brooks, Steve Robertson, Mark Robertson, Phillip Robertson, and Gregory Westerfield. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
