Faye Rodriguez Compian

Faye Rodriguez Compian, 85, passed away on Thursday morning, January 4, 2018 at the Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care in Dallas, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 2621 Bagby Ave, Waco, Texas, with Father Celso Yu officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S. 5th St., Waco, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, January 8, followed by a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco, Texas. Following the graveside service the family will hold a reception at the Baylor Club, 1001 South MLK Blvd., Waco, Texas. Faye Rodriguez was born on Saturday, March 5, 1932 to Guadalupe Salazar Rodriguez and Antonio Rodriguez. Faye grew up in a Catholic home in Waco, Texas. She married Emilio Delgado Compian on October 10, 1950. Faye and Emilio had four living daughters and four living sons. Of their eight children, their four sons and one daughter served in the military: Air Force, Army, Marines, and Navy with up to 20 years of service. Faye retired at the age of 78 from Aramark. She worked on the Baylor University campus as a Food Service Worker providing breakfast items for the students, faculty, and staff for many years prior to her retirement. Faye was also employed by Texas Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas and Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, Texas. Faye loved to laugh; light, airy colors such as yellow and pink; being with family and friends at family gatherings and parties. She enjoyed traveling with family, friends, or by herself within the United States and other countries such as Mexico and Puerto Rico. She enjoyed meeting people and making new friends everywhere she went. She enjoyed visiting gambling casinos; it brought out the gambler in her. Faye loved dancing and met her husband and life-long love, Emilio, at a local dance in Waco. She enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Emilio Delgado Compian of Waco, Texas; children, Emilio D. Compian and Grace Compian; grandchildren, infant Lisa Rene Sanchez and Mrs. Rebecca Liticia Sanchez Senicero of Waco, Texas; her parents, Guadalupe Salazar Rodriguez and Antonio Rodriguez, Sr. of Waco, Texas; her mother-in-law and father-in-law Marcos Delgado Compian and Matias Compian, Sr. of Waco, Texas; her sister, Mary Rodriguez Valdez of Waco, Texas and brothers-in-law, Tomas Compian and Inez D. Compian from Waco, Texas who served in the Army during World War II. Survivors include her children, Mary Jane Compian of Dallas, Texas; Gloria Ann Compian of Dallas, Texas; Maria Teresa Bleak and husband Robert Bleak of Waco, Texas; Thomas Compian of Waco, Texas; Helen Merced and husband Herman Merced, Jr. of Waco, Texas; Steven Daniel Compian and wife Julie Compian of Oceanside, California; Paul Compian and wife Amy White Compian of Valley Mills, Texas; and David Emilio Compian and wife Star Compian of Hillsboro, Texas; her sister Aurelia Rodriguez Willis of Waco, Texas; her brother Antonio Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Helen Gonzalez Rodriguez of Grand Prairie, Texas; her sister-in-law Nebolena Compian Ochoa and husband Ernest Ochoa of Woodway, Texas; her brother-in-law Augustine Compian of Woodway, Texas. In all Faye Compian is leaving behind a legacy of eight children, twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and one great, great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be grandsons Herman Merced III, Jacob Jenkins, Thaddeus Rowell, Hunter Clemmons, and Philip Compian and great-grandsons Anthony Sanchez and Michael Sanchez.
