Frances Eloise Anderson

October 22, 1918 — May 21, 2005

Frances Eloise Williams Anderson passed on to be with our Lord on Saturday, May 21, 2005. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm, Monday, May 23 at First Baptist Church of Waco, with Dr. Scott Walker officiating. Mrs. Anderson was born on October 22, 1918 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Bess and Joel T. Williams. She attended Dallas schools and graduated from Baylor University in 1940. She later received a Master of Arts degree from Hardin-Simmons University. Frances taught elementary school and was a guidance counselor, retiring before her move to Waco in 1980. She married Lamar Weldon Anderson, her childhood sweetheart, on November 7, 1942. Weldon, a career Air Force Colonel, provided Frances with a life of travel and adventure. They lived in Asia, Africa, Europe and parts of the United States before his retirement. Frances was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Waco and enjoyed serving in missions, community outreach and hospitality ministries. She was involved in and honored by many civic and cultural organizations over the years, but she wanted to be best remembered for her commitment to her Lord, her family, her church, her friends and Baylor University She was preceded in death by her husband and her beloved son, Lamar Thomas Anderson, who passed away last November. She is survived by daughters, Charlotte Bornhouser and husband Michael of Evergreen Co., Alyce Beard and husband Stephen of Waco; granddaughters, Michelle Luce of Heath, Tx, Charlcye Consolver and husband Andrew of Allen, Tx. and Stephanie Beard of Austin, Tx.; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Noah Luce and Caitlin and Benjamin Consolver. She is also survived by her brother, Joel T. Williams, Jr. and wife Betty Lu; sister-in-law, Betty Williams; brother-in-law, Douglas Hinckley; and eight nieces and nephews. The family request memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Waco Foundation or Providence Hospice.
