Frances Irene Sands

Frances Irene Sands of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016, in Waco, Texas. Frances was born December 14, 1930, in Snohomish, Washington, to Albert and Marion Bergerson. She married Richard F. Sands in 1950, bore five children and raised them all, providing love and guidance to each. After 51 years of marriage she lost her beloved husband in 2001. During her 86 years of life on this earth, Frances saw nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren born. Her Christian faith sustained her throughout her life. She was an example of grace, kindness, and wisdom to all who knew and loved her. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard F. Sands; and brother, Robert. She is survived by daughters, Shirley J. Sands of Baton Rouge and Joyce A. Owen of Roeland Park, Kansas; sons, Mark R. Sands of Honolulu, Hawaii, Paul F. Sands of Waco, and Dale R. Sands of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Kristin Sands VanWolfe, Allison Sands Howell, Lauren Sands, Dillon Sands, Wyatt Sands, Addie Sands, Amelia Sands, Abigail Sands, and Luke Sands; and great-grandchildren, Morgan Kate VanWolfe, Adam Howell and Deacon Sands.
