Frances Jacks Kehl September 17, 1918 – October 3, 2006 Frances Jacks Kehl died in Plano, Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at the age of 88. A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 7 at Oakwood Cemetery with Reverend Michael Attas of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m Friday, October 6 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque. Mrs. Kehl was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on September 17, 1918, to Molly and Thomas Jacks. Frances attended Waco schools and graduated from Waco High School in 1936 and was a long time member of St Paul’s Episcopal Church. In October 1938, she married her high school sweetheart, David Ernest Kehl. Ensign Kehl served in the U.S. Navy as a flight instructor, and was killed in an airplane crash April 29, 1943, at Dallas Naval Air Station. A loving mother and a woman of steadfast strength, Frances raised their two children and pursued her business career in Waco and Austin, including work for the Brazos River Authority and the Teacher Retirement System. She retired in January 1984 and moved to Temple, where she was active in the Newcomer’s Club and enjoyed crafting beautiful quilts for family and friends. Frances moved to the Dallas area in 2002. Mrs. Kehl was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Leonard Jacks, Lowell Jacks, and Dan Jacks and her great granddaughter, Malin Grace Lucido. She is survived by her brother, William Jacks of Richardson; her daughter, Eleanor Kehl Henderson and son-in-law, Jim Henderson of Richardson; son, David E. Kehl II and wife, Carol Kehl of Tyler; grandchildren, Michael Henderson of Dallas; Susan Henderson of Richardson; Kristin Kehl Lucido and husband, Jeff Lucido of Garland; and David E. Kehl III and wife, Laura Kehl of Lumberton. Also surviving are great grandchildren, David E. Kehl IV and Caitlin Elizabeth Kehl of Lumberton and Isabella Grace Lucido of Garland. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the charity of choice or to the North Texas Chapter of the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, 12226 Park Bend Drive, Dallas, Texas 75230.
