LONGENECKER, FRANCES Frances Pickering Longenecker, 84 of Waco died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at her residence. Services will be at 2pm Saturday, June 26 at Alliance Bible Church with the Rev. Richard Koskela officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Friday, June 25 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mrs. Longenecker was born in San Antonio January 11, 1920. She graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1942. She married Justin G. Longenecker July 11, 1942. She moved to Waco in 1955 with her husband to pursue his career as a professor at Baylor University. She played violin for the Honolulu Symphony and Baylor Symphony. She taught piano lessons for many years. She embraced the Christian faith in her childhood and served in the Alliance Bible Church for more than 45 years. She died after a brief bout with cancer. Survivors include husband, Dr. Justin Longenecker of Woodway; daughters, Lynda Currie and husband, Kevin of McAllen, Texas, Nancy Mendez and husband, Al of LaHabra Heights, California and Jane Edgington and husband, Jim of Lake Zurich, Illinois; grandchildren, Justin, Chelsea, and Lyndsie Currie, Mark and Tim Mendez, and Jeff and Jori Edgington; sister, Elizabeth Walls and husband, Dr. Wesley of Seattle, Washington and brother, Gordon Pickering and wife, Rose of Honolulu, Hawaii. Pallbearers will be John Bouma, Jack Vance, Mark Whitney, David Douglas, Bill Petty, and Joe McKinney. Honorary pallbearers are Clair Weller and John Ambrose.
