Frances Roberta Davis

DAVIS, FRANCES Frances Roberta Davis, age 96, of Waco died Monday, August 20, 2001 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 11:00AM Thursday, August 23rd at China Spring Cemetery with Rev. Allen Grant and Chaplain Guadalupe Rodriguez officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-7:00PM Wednesday, August 22nd at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Miss Davis was born October 21, 1904 in Kaufman, TX and graduated from high school there in 1923. She received her bachelor’s degree from East Texas State Teachers College. She enlisted in U.S. Army in 1944 and served overseas in the South Pacific in WWII. After her discharge, she received her master’s degree from North Texas State College. She taught in Grand Prairie Schools until 1967. Miss Davis was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2148. She was a member of Rebecca Lodge and China Spring United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Feagin Davis, her father, Robert N. Davis, Sr., her brother, C.W. Wiley, and her sister, Virgie Matthews. Survivors include: Brother: R.N. Davis Nieces: Mary D. Schumann of Woodway Lisa Davis of Denver, CO Honorary pallbearers will be nephews: Dr. J.R.
