Francis Edward Barnes February 8, 1921 - September 17, 2009 Francis Edward Barnes, 88, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009, in Fort Worth, TX, after a long illness. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m., Monday, September 21, at Rosemound Cemetery on South 12th and Garden Drive. Francis was born February 8, 1921, in Cement City, Texas, and was raised in Waco, where he met and married his high school sweetheart. He served in WWII as T5 Chief of Detail Section, Forward Observer of the 28th Field Artillery, Battalion C of the 8th Infantry Division. After the war, he served on President Eisenhower's ground crew for Air Force One. He later moved to Fort Worth to raise his family. He worked for 32 years at General Dynamics as the Superintendent of Quality Control. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason for 56 years where he served as Worshipful Master of Cooke-Peavy Lodge No. 1162 in 1989 and as secretary of Cooke-Peavy Lodge for 17 years. In 1993 he was awarded the Golden Trowel award. He was a member of the Moslah Shrine Flying Fez and Scottish Rite. He enjoyed working with the Masonic Orphan's Home and drove children from the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital to the Galveston Burn Center. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Evelain Marie Elin Barnes; and daughters: Joyce Barnes Sisson and husband, Charles; and Linda Barnes Price and husband, John. His grandchildren are Justin, Melissa and Lauren Sisson and John Price. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, Texas 75219.
