Francisco C. Alonzo, 68, lovingly known as “Frank” and “Cisco”, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025, surrounded by his family.

A memorial gathering and time of sharing will be held, Friday, April 18, 2025, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with time of sharing at 5:00 p.m.

Born in Waco, TX, December 22, 1956, he was the son of Ygnacio Z. Alonzo and Consuelo C. Alonzo. He graduated from Robinson High School, class of 1975 and was a proud Robinson Rocket. Frank married the love of his life, Beatrice “Bea” Alonzo, April 21, 1979. They shared 45 years of marriage together.

Frank began his early career as a steelworker at Davis Ironworks. He later transitioned to truck driving, first with Central Freight Lines for a few years before joining Saia Motor Freight in 1995. Over the next 30 years, Frank built a lasting legacy at Saia, dedicating himself fully to his work. He took immense pride in his job and was deeply respected by his colleagues, who affectionately knew him as “Cisco.” He wasn’t just a coworker—he was a friend, a mentor, and a beloved part of the team.

He enjoyed watching his favorite western movies, Lonesome Dove, Tombstone and Yellowstone. Frank’s favorite sport was baseball and he even played travel softball for many years. Frank loved watching his favorite team, the Texas Rangers, and was a big fan of the college football team Texas A&M. He enjoyed listening to music especially his favorite band, “The Eagles”. He will be remembered for his charisma, being a hard worker, and a family man. Family was everything to Frank, especially his grandchildren. Everyone that Frank knew loved him for who he was and he will be forever known for his big-hearted smile.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Beatrice Alonzo; his children, Amanda Alonzo and Adam Alonzo and his wife, Stephanie; his grandchildren, Addison Alonzo and Easton Alonzo; and his dogs, Stormy and Dirk. He is also survived by his brothers, Ygnacio “Chick” Alonzo, Alec Alonzo and wife, Pat, Robert Alonzo; sisters, Connie Alonzo, Ophelia Rodriguez and husband, Rene, Irene Rodriguez and husband, Gabriel, Dorothy Gonzales and her husband, Edward. As well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ygnacio Z. Alonzo and Consuelo C. Alonzo; his sisters, Tommie and Hopie Alonzo.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Baylor Scott & White Hospice nurses and the nurses and staff on 4 North at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waco for the care, compassion and warmth they showed Frank.
