Frank Charles Clampitt of Waco passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017. Graveside Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 22, at Waco Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Travis Lamar Summerlin officiating. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 21, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Frank was born October 24, 1928, in Waco, Texas, to Frank and Cleo Clampitt. He graduated from Waco High School in 1947 and married Lucile Summerlin on May 29, 1948. He was a retired a sheet metal mechanic and a member of the Masonic Order. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Paula McLaughlin and Gail Delhay; and a brother, Ronald Dean. He is survived by his wife Lucile; one son, Mike Clampitt and wife, Rhonda, of Waco; a daughter, Karen Hernandez and husband, Manny, of Allen, Texas; five grandchildren , Christi, Amber, Christopher, Grace and Monica; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Frank was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed sports and was a Little League coach and an avid bowler in his younger years. He loved animals and enjoyed feeding his backyard birds. He provided a caring home for ten cats and several dogs during his lifetime. He was generous and kind to strangers, as well as family and friends.
