CONCILIO, JR., FRANK Frank Concilio, Jr., age 88, of Waco died Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at a local hospital. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM Saturday, December 1st at St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Monsignor Mark Deering officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00PM Friday, November 30th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 1124 Washington Ave. Mr. Concilio was born March 13, 1913 in Waco. He married Willie Mae Billie Cocek December 31, 1941. She preceded him in death November 5, 1989. He then married Paula Perkins Wright June 6, 1992. She preceded him in death September 6, 2001. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a life member of the D.A.V. He attended Waco schools and 4-C College. He was with Humble Oil Co. for 40 years and the U.S. Post Office for 36 years. He was a director of the Postal Employee’s Credit Union for 35 years. Mr. Concilio was a Baylor Booster during Coach John Bridgers tenure at Baylor. He gave season tickets to slogan winners. The winning slogan was picked by the students and a banner carrying the slogan was put across Austin Ave. at 8th St. each year starting in 1963 and continuing through the departure of Coach Bridgers at Baylor. He was instrumental in helping the Lighthouse for the Blind when they were being forced to close for lack of funds. He wrote a letter to the Waco Tribune-Herald asking for help and made a donation in memory of his late wife. He called more than 600 people for donations and the program was successful. He and the late Jay Lefevors of the City of Waco Water Department were credited in putting the Baylor slogan on the water tower at Richland Mall. Mr. Concilio was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. Survivors include daughter, Julie Ann Starnes of Waco, granddaughters, Sarah and Sandra Starnes, stepdaughters, Judee and Jill Wright of Manhattan, stepsons, Dr. Robert Wright and wife, Val of Waco, Keith Wright and wife, Dee of California, Byron Wright of Washington, step granddaughters, Andrea, Randy and Chelsea, step great grandchildren, Taylor and Kayley, sister, Camille Smith and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Robert Wright, Keith Wright, Byron Wright, Randy Wright, Paul Concilio, Jr., Trey Concilio, Ken Concilio, and William J. Filer. Honorary pallbearers are his many close friends. Memorials may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
