Frank Jim Sykora

SYKORA, FRANK JIM Frank Jim Sykora, age 57, of Waco, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Monday, November 4, 2002 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 1:30pm Friday, November 8 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. David Story officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Thursday, November 7 at the funeral home garden room. Mr. Sykora was born February 25, 1945 in Marlin to Charlie and Mary Sykora. He attended Midway I.S.D. He married Evelyn D. Dickerson November 30, 1963. After receiving his master’s electrician license, he had owned and operated Frank’s Electric Service since 1976. Until his recent illness, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and infant granddaughter, Heather Renee' Hamel. Survivors include his loving wife, Evelyn Sykora of Waco; daughters, Tammie R. Hamel and husband, Johnny of Robinson and Sherri L. Sutherland and husband, Gary of Lorena; son, Darrell F. Sykora and wife, Connie of Lorena; grandchildren, Amber and Alyssa Sutherland of Lorena, Hannah Sykora and Matt Warrick of Lorena and Joshua Hamel of Robinson; sisters, Evelyn Sedivy and husband, Vic of Oklahoma and Mary Ann Vance and husband, Ike of Waco; brothers, Henry Sykora and wife, Ann of Robstown, Jody Sykora, Sr. and wife, Linda of Waco, Charles Sykora and wife, Mary of Axtell, George Sykora and wife, Cyndi of Waco, and Daniel Sykora and Katie of Rhode Island and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad, although you are gone, you will never be forgotten. We didn’t even get to say goodbye. Our lives are not complete without you. We love you and will miss you. Pallbearers will be David Binder, George Binder, Robbie Sykora, Terry Smith, Tracy Witt, and Rodney Hamel. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Patrick, Jimmy Fielding, Robert Krumnow, Ed Robnett, Curtis Robnett, R.P. Glaze, Roland Keating, Eldin Grimm, Jerrel Pringle, Jim Bland and Hines Development Group.
