Frank Neely Anderson of Waco passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 21, at Lorena Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 20, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Frank was born November 29, 1924, in Lorena, to Earl and Lydia Anderson. He graduated from the Lorena schools in May 1942. He served 3 years and 8 months in the South Pacific during World War II in the U.S. Naval Air Force. Flying in PV-1s and PB4Y2s from Munda Islands to Okinawa Island. While in Okinawa he was awarded two air medals. He was discharged in 1946 and married to Joyce Gruetzner, and they had two children, Barry, born in 1947, and Cathy, born in 1949. They celebrated 70 years of marriage in June 2016. He enrolled and graduated from Four C Business College. In 1947, he entered Baylor University and graduated in 1950 with a BBA degree. He was employed in the Farm Credit System and served 39 years, with the last 24 years as CEO. He retired in 1989. He was active in the Little League as coach and manager from minor, teenage and senior teams and managed the senior team that won the state title.
