OBITUARY FOR: FRED POULTER Fred Poulter, age 80, died Monday, March 19, 2002, at his residence. Services will be 9:30 AM Friday, March 22, at Wilkirson - Hatch – Bailey Bosque Chapel with Rev. Don Galatin and Rev Paul Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Frost Cemetery, in Frost, TX. Visitation with the family will be 6 – 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Poulter was born May 8, 1921, in Frost to A. M. & Della Poulter. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1940. He served on the USS San Francisco and survived the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. He came home on leave in 1942 and married his high school sweetheart Clara Nell Goodman of Mertens, TX. He continued his service in the Navy where he fought in the South Pacific during WWII. He served in the U. S. Navy until 1945. Mr. Poulter was then employed by Halliburton Oil Well Service for 29 years. He was a dedicated member of North Waco Baptist Church for the last 12 years of his life. His parents, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Clara Poulter, 2 daughters, Brenda Lewis and husband, Bobby of Corpus Christi and Judy Graves and husband, Tom of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Two grandchildren, Beverly Volek of Stafford and Michael Rosamond of Jacksonville, Florida and a great granddaughter, Candi Doss of Stafford and one brother, Joe Dean Poulter of Port Arthur. Pallbearers will be Lecil Parker, Gil Merrill, Jack Price, Joe Goodman, Thomas Graves and Don Oliver.
