Freda L. McMillan passed away Friday, October 7, 2022. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, with Rev. Roy Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Reed's Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Freda was born July 12, 1933, in Golinda, Texas, to Allie and Naoma Butler. She grew up in and around the Waco area. She was married to Mike Bray and they had one daughter, Dora Elizabeth. She later married William F. (Frank) McMillan, Jr. and they had one daughter, Devona Christine (Christy). Freda was a homemaker and took care of children at the church and at her home. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and later playing Bingo and putting puzzles together. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hewitt for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William F. McMillan Jr.; her sister, Florence Owen; and her nephew, Darrell Owen.
She is survived by her brother, Van Butler, of Florida; daughters, Dora Betts and husband, Brad, and Christy Howard and husband, Chuck; grandchildren, Brandi Olivarez and husband, Josh, Chas Howard, and wife, Binh An, and Caleb Howard; and great-grandchildren Gavin, Chloe, and Jackson Olivarez. Sister-in-laws, Janita McMillan and Velma Lisenbe and Brother-in-law, Garry McMillan and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brad Betts, Chuck Howard, Chas Howard, Caleb Howard, Josh Olivarez, Gavin Olivarez.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ray May and David Darwin.
