Gabriel Villagomez

Gabriel Villagomez, 68, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 28, at St. Francis on the Brazos Catholic Church with Father Eduardo Jasso officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.

Gabriel was born March 12, 1955 in San Pedro, Guanajuato, Mexico. He had three sisters and four brothers. He was the 3rd oldest sibling. He married Maria Reyna in 1976. He moved with his family to Waco in 1986. Gabriel enjoyed singing, gardening, hanging out and entertaining family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Luisa; and his two sisters, Manuela and Benina.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years Ma. Reyna Villagomez; his five children, Leticia, Gabriel Jr., Luisa, Ricardo and Maria. He is survived by eleven grandchildren, Araceli, Genesis Gabriela, Juan Carlos, Diana, Daniel, Daisy, Carly, Alexis, Cain, Zitlaly and Lesly. He was also expecting his first great-grandbaby, Miguel, in March of 2024. He is survived by siblings Jose, Isaac, Rojelio, Leoploldo,  and Ceclia Villagomez.

Pallbearers will be Gabriel Villagomez, Ricardo Villagomez, Daniel Villagomez, Felipe Santos, Salvador Antonio, and Carlos Lara.

Rest in peace Gabriel. Your family and friends will carry on your memory forever. They will continue to gather, sing and enjoy life, in your name, just as you would have wanted us to “a tu manera.”

Gabriel Villagómez, de 68 años, falleció el 20 de diciembre del 2023 en su casa. Los servicios

serán el jueves 28 de diciembre del 2023 a las 10:00 am en la Iglesia San Francisco, oficiando el Padre

Eduardo Jasso. Seguirá el entierro en el cementerio Oakwood (2124 S 5th St). El velorio será el miércoles

27 de diciembre de 2023 después de un rosario católico a las 6:00 p.m. en la funeraria Wilkirson-Hatch-

Bailey (6101 Bosque Blvd).

Gabriel nació en San Pedro, Guanajuato, México el 12 de marzo de 1955. Tenía 3 hermanas y

4 hermanos. Era el tercer hermano mayor. Se casó con María Reyna en 1976. Se mudó con su familia en

1986 a Waco, Texas. A Gabriel le gustaba cantar, hacer jardinería, pasar el rato y entretener a familiares

y amigos.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres José y Luisa, Sus dos hermanas Manuela y Benina.

Le sobreviven su esposa de 47 años, Ma. Reyna Villagómez. Sus cinco hijos Leticia, Gabriel Jr.,

Luisa, Ricardo y María. Las parejas de sus hijos Felipe, Ana, Carlos, Delia y Salvador. Sus 11 nietos

Araceli, Génesis Gabriela, Juan Carlos, Diana, Daniel, Daisy, Carly, Alexis, Caín, Zitlaly y Lesly. También

esperaba a su primer bisnieto Miguel en marzo de 2024. Sus hermanos José, Isaac, Rojelio, Leoploldo,

y Cecilia Villagomez.

Los portadores del ataúd serán Gabriel Villagómez, Ricardo Villagómez, Daniel Villagómez,

Felipe Santos, Salvador Antonio, Carlos Lara y otros familiares cercanos.

Descansa en paz Gabriel. Tus familiares y amigos llevarán tu recuerdo para siempre. Seguirán

reuniéndose, cantando y disfrutando de la vida, en tu nombre, tal como tú hubieras querido y “a tu manera”.
