Ganna Erena Denton of Waco passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at the age of 86. Her graveside service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 23, at Waco Memorial Park with the Rev. Richard Roland officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:30 p.m., April 23, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Ganna was born June 29, 1929, in Black, Texas, to John and Clyde Northern. On December 3, 1948 Ganna married Chili Denton, the love of her life. “Mrs. Denton” worked many years for and retired from Educator’s Credit Union. Known as “Mema” to her grandchildren, she loved her family dearly and treated all people with respect and grace demonstrating her deep faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ganna enjoyed finding a good crappie hole on Lake Belton and fishing it with Chili. Camping and fishing became a staple of activity in her retired years and she delighted in sharing these precious experiences with family and friends. She had a way of making holidays and special occasions fun and enjoyable. A precious person, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, a good and faithful friend; we will miss you dearly. Ganna was a member of Lakewood Christian Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by parents; sisters, Ubie, Winnie Dee, Ruthie; brothers, John and James; and granddaughter, Kate Seely. She is survived by her husband, W. E. “Chili” Denton; three daughters, Debbie Pruitt and husband, Larry, Susie Denton and husband, Terry Kullander, and Dee Seely and husband, Andy; grandchildren, Jason Hussey and wife, Kelly, John Hussey and wife, Barbara, Jeremy Pruitt and wife, Haley, Haden Seely, Reagan Seely, Mason Kullander and Mabry Kullander; and eight great grandchildren; her sister, Yoma Northern; nieces and nephews; and family dog, Tyke.
