Garlen Amida Cottom November 17, 1917 - August 1, 2009 Garlen Amida Cottom of Robinson passed away Saturday, August 1, 2009. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 4 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial to follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 3 at the funeral home. Garlen was born November 17, 1917 in Beaumont, Texas to William and Ola Hollister Cottom. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of New Road Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, G. R. Sonny Cottom and wife, Janie; granddaughter, Annette Lacy; two great-grandchildren; and caregiver and special friend who he loved, Judy Witherwax and many other friends.
