November 19, 1940 — June 10, 2003

VAUGHAN, GARY M. Gary M. Vaughan, age 62, left this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at his residence in China Spring. Services will be held at 9:30am Saturday, June 14 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. John Carroll officiating. Burial will follow at Wortham Bend Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Friday, June 13 at the funeral home. Gary was born November 19, 1940 in Goldthwaite to Don Hoppy and Mona Vaughan. The family moved to Waco where he graduated from Waco High in May, 1960. He met and married his childhood sweetheart, Marguerite Hawkins, in 1959. Gary had a love for the great outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, turkey and deer hunting and restoring his ’57 Chevys and Ford tractors. He retired from Sears in December 1999 after 20 years of dedicated service as a refrigeration and major appliance repair technician. He was founder of VonCo of Waco Inc. in January 2000. He was a hard worker and dedicated to helping others, where he met and made many friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lynn and Danny Vaughan. Survivors include wife, Marguerite Vaughan of China Spring; daughters, Dee Ann Parker of Wylie, Brenda Hodges, and Melinda Vaughan both of China Spring; son, William Billy Vaughan of China Spring; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Eli Vaughan, Shawn and London Parker and Levi Hoke; sisters, Donna Floyd of Sugar Land and Tamara Bates of Richmond; brother, Ronald Vaughan of McGregor and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bobbie Bearden, James Hawkins, Billy Joe Evans, Charles Sirkel, Bernie Gottwald, and Jerry Rutherford. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for those who have been so caring and held our family in prayer and a special thanks to Scott and White Hospice.
